Marble, Granite or Engineered Stone

We get the question a lot:what should one use in the kitchen? At the end of the day it comes down to your taste, needs and style.

But when it comes to being practical, we always mention that while marble is very popular it is not practical for kitchens as it stains and scratches easily. However, if you are okay to let the marble age, and you don't mind the stains and scratches, then it can work.

Granite is very durable and handles stains and scratches well. Engineered stone, like Caesarstone, Silestone and Vicostone, also handles scratches and stains well. Although with engineered stone, its deficit is that you are unable to put hot pots directly on its surface.

Other products, like Dekton for example, don’t scratch or stain at all and are extremely durable.
